Hello! Welcome to Plummer Elementary!

My name is Mrs. Mejia and I am a 1st Grade Teacher here at Plummer.

Here are a few tidbits about me:

* I have been working for LAUSD since 1998!

* I was born in Portland, Maine

* I received my Bachelors of Science from the University of Southern Maine, and completed post-graduate work at the Illinois Institute of Technology, Loyola University of Chicago, and UCLA.

* Most people don’t know that I was an avid windsurfer.

* In my leisure time, I love to travel, read, and hike with friends and family.

* My inspiration is my daughter Evy because she is determined and very artistic in her approach to life.

* My favorite children's books are Thank You, Mr. Falker by Patricia Polacco & Miss Rumphius by Barbara Cooney because they embrace my philosophy for teaching.

* I am most proud of building my student’s enthusiasm for growth and learning.
